About Conflux

WHO WE ARE

A practical partner across cultures and institutions

Conflux is a New Zealand-based company supporting cooperation across cultures, borders, and institutions. We provide practical support for meetings, business liaison, education, executive briefings, and international networks.

OUR PURPOSE

To help people across differences live and work together

We believe that understanding differences is only the beginning. Meaningful cooperation requires careful dialogue, a willingness to discover where common ground may exist, and practical arrangements that allow people to move forward together.

Our aim is to support this process without imposing particular beliefs or outcomes, while recognising the independence, responsibilities, and dignity of those involved.

OUR APPROACH

Understanding Before Agreement

Working across differences takes more than goodwill. Familiar words may conceal different expectations, while unfamiliar customs may obscure common concerns. biases, emotions, and institutional pressures can make both harder to see.

We begin by listening carefully, clarifying expectations and responsibilities, and helping people distinguish misunderstandings from genuine disagreements.

We neither assume trust nor insist on agreement. Instead, we support those involved in finding practical ways forward that they can choose and carry forward themselves.

BUSINESS, INTERNATIONAL LAW & JUSTICE

Structures for Living Together

Commerce, international law, and international criminal justice serve different purposes, yet each offers insights into the structures through which people have learned to live and work together. They reveal both the possibilities of cooperation and the challenges that arise when interests, expectations, and values differ.

Business experience shows that trust cannot simply be assumed. It needs to be supported by clear expectations, reliable commitments, and practical arrangements. International law offers ways to develop common rules across different societies and interests. International criminal justice brings another perspective, addressing responsibility for the gravest international crimes and the limits of acceptable conduct.

None of these systems is perfect, nor do they provide ready-made answers. For Conflux, they offer valuable lessons in how cooperation can be built, how responsibilities can be recognised, and how a shared recognition of our humanity and dignity may provide common ground.

OUR EXPERIENCE

From Business Leadership to International Institutions

Conflux draws on its founder's experience in international business and organisational leadership across Asia, the Pacific, and Europe. This includes many years managing manufacturing operations in China, business activities connecting Japan and New Zealand, and more recent work at an international institution in Europe.

Working with people from different backgrounds has shaped our understanding of the challenges of cooperation—from everyday misunderstandings to complex organisational and commercial relationships.

This experience has been complemented by legal studies and professional experience in legal settings, bringing further perspectives on responsibility, cooperation, and human dignity.
